On October 14, 2016, a grand investment promotion conference themed "Encouraging Investment and Developing Bokeo" was held at the Huay Xai Muangthong Hotel in Bokeo Province, Laos. Representatives from various Lao central government departments, northern provinces, relevant government representatives from China, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, and other countries, as well as domestic and international investors, gathered to discuss investment and development plans for Bokeo Province.
During the conference, the relevant vice governors of Bokeo Province gave a detailed presentation on the province's socio-economic development plan; the director of the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment focused on explaining the relevant policies for encouraging investment in Bokeo Province. Subsequently, representatives from various Lao central government departments, northern provinces, international guests, and investor representatives spoke, exchanging views on investment cooperation opportunities and industrial development directions. In the afternoon, the relevant vice governors of Bokeo Province responded to and answered questions raised by domestic and international investors. Zhao Wei, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone of Laos, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
After the meeting, the participants were invited to conduct a site visit to the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone.
